Introducing the Mama Mode Podcast

In the debut episode of the Mama Mode podcast, founder Emily sits down with Laura, a mom, a do-it-all freelancer, and one of the inspiring minds behind Mama Mode. Together, they share the story of the app from its infancy to launch, the challenges of navigating motherhood while pursuing big dreams, and the power of creating a community that uplifts and supports moms. Join us for a heartfelt and authentic introduction to what Mama Mode is all about—real talk, connection, and empowerment for moms everywhere.

Mama Mode was born in the early mornings that creator Emily Higgins spent feeding and rocking her newborn second son. What she thought would be a smooth transition to life as a family of four was complicated by postpartum mental health challenges that she hadn’t previously experienced. With a few apps already on her phone to track feeding, sleep, and child development, she figured she’d download one to support her well-being as a mom, but was frustrated by the limited options available for moms specifically. As a senior interactive designer with a background in web and app design, she took matters into her own hands.

Emily started laying the groundwork for the Mama Mode app, with all of the tools and features she needed to ease her transition back to work and simplify the chaos of home life with a growing family. The overwhelming response she received after sharing some of her postpartum challenges and frustrations on social media proved what she already knew- so many moms needed more support. And they deserved tools made specifically with moms in mind.
